Ledforum 2026: when light meets new possibilities

08/24/2026 | For us, taking part in the Ledforum means much more than being present at one of Brazil’s leading lighting design events. It is an opportunity to exchange ideas, learn, introduce new concepts and, above all, be close to the people who are helping shape the future of lighting.

In 2026, this experience took on an even more special meaning. In a year when we celebrate 30 years of Omega Light, we arrived at Ledforum with Built to Last as the guiding concept of our presence: a celebration of everything we have built over three decades and, at the same time, a look toward everything we can still build.

And perhaps there was no better place to talk about this than an event whose theme this year was “A Systemic Perspective.” Ledforum 2026 placed collaboration at the heart of the conversation, understanding lighting as part of a system of relationships between people, disciplines, processes and communities.

New products, new paths

It was in this context that we introduced two new products that translate much of what we believe about the future of lighting: jū and ensō.

jū starts with a simple idea: there is no single path. Designed as a lighting system that adapts to architecture, it allows for different compositions and interpretations, transforming an initial form into new possibilities. Its configuration system expands this freedom even further, allowing different configurations and lighting solutions to be combined according to each project.

ensō, on the other hand, is based on a language capable of moving through architecture, following paths and connecting different points within a space. Its proposal creates relationships between light, material, form and space, offering flexibility to direct lighting without visually interfering with the overall composition.

A new possibility in the auditorium

In addition to presenting jū and ensō at our booth, we had the opportunity to bring jū into one of the event’s central spaces: the Ledforum auditorium.

In collaboration with Fernanda Carvalho Lighting, jū was used in an unprecedented composition, specially created for the auditorium lighting. The installation brought one of the product’s key characteristics into the space: the freedom to create different configurations from a single element.

It was a special way to present jū not only as a launch, but as a solution that takes on new meanings when it meets different architectures, projects and perspectives.

And this experience reinforced precisely the concept that guided our participation in Ledforum: when light meets new possibilities, new ways of creating emerge.

Two different luminaires, yet sharing the same idea: light does not have to follow a single path.

And, in a way, that is exactly what happened throughout our participation in Ledforum. Our presence was not limited to the booth. It extended into the program, the conversations, the encounters and the experiences that took place throughout Light Week.

When light is also about connection

Light Week, held in partnership by Ledforum and AsBAI, expands the congress experience by bringing together workshops, masterclasses, exhibitions and social events around lighting. More than a parallel program, it creates a space for learning, connection and exchange between different professionals and perspectives.

And that was precisely where we began.

Our product designer took part in the first workshop of the program, “Co-laborar a Luz”, led by the partners of Chilean studio Limarí Lighting Design. The workshop explored the collaborative processes behind the development of lighting concepts and projects, reinforcing an idea that was present throughout our entire week: great solutions rarely come from a single perspective.

From collaboration between ideas, we moved toward collaboration between different perspectives on a project.

 

Project in Perspectives: Brumadinho Memorial

We also had the opportunity to host the Project in Perspectives – Brumadinho Memorial panel, introduced by our Marketing Coordinator, Caroline Alves, and bringing together different professionals involved in the development of this highly meaningful project.

The conversation featured Mariana Noves, responsible for the lighting design, Gustavo Greco, founder and Creative Director of Greco Design, and Fabiola Moulin, President of the Brumadinho Memorial Foundation. Bringing together different perspectives made it possible to understand how architecture, design, lighting, memory and other disciplines can come together to create complex, sensitive and deeply meaningful solutions.

The format of the panel itself reflected the spirit of this year’s Ledforum: looking at the same project from different perspectives and understanding how these views complement one another, revealing new layers and possibilities.

And when we talk about different perspectives, we naturally arrive at another essential point: the people who are part of our community.

 

Collaboration that continues beyond the project

Our Commercial Director, Akira Nagata, also took part in the talk “Collaboration and Community”, moderated by Mônica Luz Lobo, alongside leading names in lighting design and communications, including Pascal Chautard, Gilberto Franco, Christopher Knowlton, Marina Makowiecky, and Thiago Gaya.

The conversation brought to the forefront a question that goes beyond the development of a product or project: how can we build a stronger professional community through collaboration?

For us, this is a particularly important question. After all, over 30 years of history, we have built much more than luminaires. We have built relationships, partnerships, projects, knowledge and encounters that last.

And it was precisely this idea of continuity that took on special meaning during another moment of the program.

 

A recognition that stands the test of time

During the LIT Lighting Design Awards ceremony, our product designer personally received the Honorable Mention awarded to the Microgroove luminaire.

The recognition is part of the LIT Lighting Design Awards edition dedicated to 2025 projects, with Microgroove recognized in the lighting category and Ricardo Fahl as lead designer.

Receiving this award on the Ledforum stage, during such a symbolic year for us, made the moment even more special.

Microgroove represents an important part of what we strive to build: a product that combines design, precision, technology and application possibilities, while also being conceived to accompany projects over time.

 

And to finish, a moment to remember

After so many encounters, conversations and ideas, it was time to celebrate.

We closed our participation in Ledforum with another edition of the Omega Bar at the Lighting Lovers party, our traditional partnership with the celebration that closes Light Week.

But this year, the bar took on a special meaning through the Moments Built to Last activation. We started with a simple question: what truly remains after an encounter?

We created an experience for two people to enter a booth together, place their hands on a sensitive surface and experience the transformation of light through the connection between their heartbeats.

Two different rhythms. One shared experience.

As their heartbeats were interpreted, the lighting shifted through different intensities and colors until it found a point of balance. When that connection occurred, the light stabilized and revealed the color of that connection.

Over 30 years, we have always known that not everything we build has to be a luminaire. We build a project, a partnership, a conversation, an idea, an encounter — or simply a moment that stays with us.

And perhaps that was the best way to close our journey at Ledforum 2026: remembering that light is made of much more than material, technology and design. It is also made of the relationships we build around it.

That is what we want to carry into the next 30 years.
