LB26: Key insights from our post–Light+Building

After an intense immersion at Light + Building 2026 in Frankfurt, we brought together our team and special guests—some of the lighting designers who joined us on this journey—to begin a new chapter: the first omega insights pós l+b.

This inaugural event was created with a clear purpose: to translate what we saw, filtered, and discussed during the world’s largest lighting trade fair into real perspectives for the market.

Through conversations, exchanges, and thought-provoking discussions, we created a curated space where information overload gave way to direction.

Frankfurt as a starting point

Held from March 8 to 13, Light + Building 2026 reaffirmed its role as the main global stage for the future of lighting and building technologies, connecting design, engineering, and innovation within a single narrative

Under the theme “Be Electrified” our directors Fabio Nagata and Hiroshi Nagata, alongside Product Manager Ricardo Fahl and Strategic Business Executive Ricardo Coelho, experienced firsthand an edition that reinforces new paths for the industry. The fair showcased solutions pointing toward increasingly connected, intelligent, and sustainable environments where light evolves from function into experience.

Among the main drivers, three key axes stood out:

– Sustainable transformation

– Intelligent connectivity

– The sensory and human dimension of light

These themes not only guide the industry but also reshape the role of lighting in the spaces we inhabit.

What we brought inside

The Omega Insights post L+B, held on April 8, was structured into two main moments. The event featured two talks that condensed insights and sparked new reflections: the first led by our team—the four representatives who attended the fair—and the second promoting a dialogue among three lighting designers who also visited Light + Building 2026: Antônio Carlos Mingrone (Mingrone Iluminação), Guinter Parschalk (Studio IX), and Livia Berriel (Franco+Berriel).

Some key points guided the discussions:

Technology as a means, not an end: The evolution of connected systems and automation reinforces a path where technology shifts from being a standalone protagonist to enabling more intuitive and human-centered experiences.

Design that communicates and engages: Light continues to expand its narrative role—creating atmospheres, guiding perceptions, and reinforcing spatial identities.

Innovation with purpose: Beyond novelty, the focus is on solutions that truly solve problems by integrating performance, efficiency, and applicability.

Sustainability as a premise: No longer a trend, but a requirement. The discussion evolves toward real impact: energy efficiency, materials, and responsibility throughout the entire lifecycle.

A preview of what’s ahead

The event also marked a moment of openness. We shared some directions that are already guiding our next steps—a direct reflection of what we saw, but above all, what we believe. Without revealing too much, one thing is certain: the path forward lies in further integrating design, technology, and sustainability in a consistent and applied way.

This gathering takes on even greater meaning in a symbolic year for us. In 2026, we celebrate 30 years of history, and rather than revisiting the past, we choose to reinforce our commitment to the future. Omega Insights is born from this very place: active listening, curation, and collective building.

Because, in the end, lighting is not just about designing light, it’s about designing what comes next.
